


PORTO KATSIKI
Porto Katsiki beach received its name from the goats that could reach the difficult beach.
It is located in the south-western part of the island. The beach is famous for its superb scenery and clear blue sea.

and is crowded during the summer season.
Thousands of visitors from all over the world visit Lefkada and almost all pass by the beach.
You can go to the beach from Vasiliki by three different routes.
There is paid parking, but you can park on the streets in front of the parking.
Above the beach there are small canteens that have an incredible view of the Ionian Sea.
Almost everyday there are daily cruises that start from Vasiliki and Nydri and pass through Porto Katsiki making a stop for a swim.
You are left a little far from the beach and you can dive from the boats into the sea.
Egremnoi
Egremnoi beach got its name from the impressive rocks that surround the beach and the huge rocks that seem to be hanging from small pieces.
The incredible beauty of Egremnoi beach has made it one of the most beautiful and much-advertised landscapes in the world.
The turquoise sea offers you one of the best conditions for swimming and anyone looking for peace and relaxation.
Surely you will not be disappointed because it is one of the longest beaches of Lefkada, with a length of over 2.5 kilometers.
It is located in the southwestern part of the island, and you can go by road from Vasiliki.
However, it should be known that you may need to park quite far away due to the number of visitors it receives every day. Egremnoi beach attracts many travelers every year and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. Everyday cruises from Vasiliki and Nydri arrive at the beach with hundreds of people. The beach is very long, so it doesn't seem like it's full of people.
Gialos
Gialos beach is a huge and beautiful beach on the western coastline of Lefkada.
It is located below Athani, but you need to be careful because the road has several turns.
For nature lovers, it is minimally organized with umbrellas and sunbeds.
Thus, the visitor is given the possibility to more easily feel the awe imposed on him by the nature of Lefkada.
The fact that the beach is quite large gives you room to enjoy your swim.
Megali Petra
Near the village of Kalamitsi, there are 3 beautiful beaches, not so well known to most.
Access to the beach is slightly difficult, due to the bends and narrowness of the road, but shortly before you arrive you will be rewarded by the superb view towards the beach and the Ionian Sea.
Parking options are limited, but the beach is not crowded which is better to
go early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
Kavalikeuta
Near the village of Kalamitsi is the beach of Kavalikeuta with white pebbles, sand and big rocks.
A secret little beach that will pleasantly surprise you.
Access to the beach is slightly difficult, due to the bends and narrowness of the road, but the reward will come soon. There is paid parking, but you can also park for free on the street, but the positions are few, so it is better to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
You will find sunbeds with umbrellas and a small refreshment bar.
Avali
Near the village of Kalamitsi is the beach of Avali.
Access to the beach is slightly difficult, due to the bends and narrowness of the road, but shortly before you arrive you will be rewarded by the magnificent view towards the Ionian Sea.
Before you arrive you will see the sign for Avali beach and then turn right.
Parking options are limited, so it's best to arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
Above the beach there is a small canteen that will offer you relaxation with an incredible view of the Ionian Sea.
Gaidaros
Gaidaros beach is located south of Kathisma beach (it is a continuation of it). You can walk from Kathisma or go by car to get off at beaches located below the village of Kalamitsi, then turn right towards Avali beach,
and after passing it after 1 kilometer you will find parking exactly above the beach.
Kathisma
Kathisma beach is a huge white sandy beach in Northwest Lefkada.
Access is quite easy by road, about 35 minutes from Vasiliki crossing the western side of the island.
The green route and the view towards the Ionian Sea will impress you.
You can also take the local bus from Vasiliki to Lefkada and then to Kathisma.
Kathisma beach is the most fully organized beach in Lefkada with many beach bars and is a major attraction for young people and those who like loud music and crowds.
For those who prefer more quietness, on the left side of the beach they will be able to find the right place.
In the summer months during lunch hours you will probably face a problem with parking.
You can also do paragliding (paragliding), having an incredible view of the beach and the Ionian Sea.
Milos
Mylos beach is one of the best beaches in Lefkada. It is not possible to go to the beach by car, but you can go daily by boat from Agios Nikitas or from a path that starts through the village and through a very beautiful route of 15 minutes to reach the beach having a very beautiful panoramic view of the beach. White sand and turquoise waters await you to enjoy. This beach is not organized, so take the necessary things with you. Vasiliki to Agios Nikitas takes 35-40 minutes.
Agios Nikitas
Agios Nikitas is a very beautiful picturesque village on the northwest side of the island.
Cars are not allowed inside the village and you can park in the parking lot or along the road before or after the entrance.
Going down the paved road you will come across some restaurants and cafes and at the end of the road you will reach the beach.
The small cove surrounded by rocks offers a magnificent view of the Ionian Sea and is a perfect choice for a quiet evening drink.
From here you can go to the nearby beach of Mylos by boat and there is also the option of the path to the beach.
Vasiliki Agios Nikitas 35-40 minutes.
Pefkoulia
Pefkoulia beach is located on the northwest side of the island after Agios Nikitas, 35-40 minutes from Vasiliki.
You can park on the street or near the beach without a parking fee.
It is a long sandy beach with very beautiful waters where the pine forest reaches all the way to the beach.
At the entrance to the beach there is a cafe-restaurant and it is organized with sunbeds and umbrellas.
Then the beach changes face and becomes a beach of naked and free campers
Agios Ioannis and Miloi
The beach of Agios Ioannis is located very close to the town of Lefkada and belongs to Gyra.
You need a little attention because in the sea there are large horizontal white slates.
On site there are some old windmills which create a charming atmosphere.
The winds are quite strong, which favors fans of wind and kite surfing.
On the upper side of the street there are restaurants and cafes.
Gyra
The beach of Gyra is located at the northern end of the island, near the entrance to Lefkada and is one of the beaches preferred by the locals,
because it is located at a short distance from the city of Lefkada.
Ammoglossa
Ammoglossa beach is located in the northernest part of the island with sand and very beautiful waters where you can see it from the first moment you enter Lefkada from the iron bridge on the right.
The beach is preferred by the locals because it is very close to the city, about 10 minutes on foot.
Nikiana
On the eastern side of Lefkada and along the seaside village of Nikiana there are a few beaches.
The area is popular for families with children and the elderly because the access is very easy and the waters are shallower compared to the western beaches.
Pasha
After the village of Perigiali, there is a very well-hidden beach straight ahead.
It has a view towards the coasts of Etoloakarnania and many sailboats pass by the sea beautifying the landscape.
Nidri
The village of Nydri and its beach is located in the eastern part of the island, 25 minutes from Vasiliki.
The beach in Nydri is organized and overlooks the islets (Prigiponisia) and the coasts of Etoloakarnania.
Desimi
Desimi beach is located in a quiet bay on the outer side of the Vlychos peninsula.
The beach has white pebbles and is shady and ideal for canoeing, where you can explore sandbars and caves along the coast.
The path to the beach is through the Desimi and Santa Mavra campsites, which occupy the area next to the beach.
About 20 minutes from Vasiliki.
Mikros Gialos
Below the village of Poros, southeast of the island, is Mikros Gialos beach.
The mountains that surround it are a natural protection from the winds,
as a result the sea is not rarely calm. The beach has white pebbles.
The beach is organized and there are restaurants and cafes nearby.
About 20 minutes from Vasiliki.
Afteli
Afteli or Skydi beach is located after the village of Evgirou. The beach is small and has white pebbles.
It is worth exploring the well-known Hoirospilia, which is located a short distance from the village of Evgirou, where according to the archaeologist Dairpfeld, the stables of Eumaios of Homeric Ithaca were there.
Ammousa
The beautiful Ammouso or Ammousa beach is located in the southern part of the island at a distance of 4 kilometers from Marantochori.

Agiofili

Its crystal clear blue-green waters enchant visitors who can enjoy sun, sea and peaceful family holidays.
The location of the beach is 3 kilometers southwest of Vasiliki and it can be accessed by boat from the picturesque port of Vasiliki or by road.
Above the beach there is a large paid parking lot, but you can also park for free on the street before the entrance to the parking lot.
Valta
The beach of Valta is almost unknown but it is a small paradise well hidden somewhere before the famous beach of Agiofili.
If you start from Vasiliki, you can still walk to the beach in about 30 minutes, but you will have to take the necessary equipment with you.
You should be careful because somewhere on your right you will find the 330 meter path that leads to the beach after you have traveled a little over 2km.
It is also an ideal destination for diving enthusiasts.
Kolivata
After the picturesque port of Vasiliki and the tourist anchorage there are four small picturesque white pebble beaches. The First, the Second, the Third and the Fourth beach. For those who stay in Vasiliki and don't want to go too far, it is the ideal solution for a swim.
It is also popular for families with children and the elderly because the access is very easy and the waters are shallower than the western beaches.
Vasiliki
The naturally formed bay of Vasiliki, located between the two mountain peaks, is ideal for many water sports, with wind surfing being the predominant one. Vasiliki is considered one of the best beaches in the Mediterranean for the sport of windsurfing, since it has special wind conditions. Vacationers of various nationalities, water sports enthusiasts gather here and the environment is transformed into an international one.
There are many wind surfing clubs where windsurfing and sailing lessons are held (Catamaran, Mixed Monohull, Laser).
You can also do Sub, Sub Yoga, Yoga and cycling.
Every year at the beginning of June, running, cycling, windsurfing and sailing competitions are organized, giving a special tone to the area.
The beach of Vasiliki has white pebbles, but inside it quickly becomes sandy and the waters are shallow, making it popular for families with children and the elderly.
Along its entire length, there is a large sidewalk where pedestrians and bicycles come and go.
