Porto Katsiki

The Porto Katsiki beach is one of the best beaches in Greece. It’s famous for its stunning scenery and its deep-blue sea. The natural beauty of Porto Katsiki offers one of the most impressive views for which the island of Lefkada is renowned.

You can reach the beach by road or by cruise boats from Vasiliki and Nidri. Above the beach there are small snack bars that boast incredible views over the Ionian Sea.

Vasiliki, a traditional settlement of Lefkada

Vasiliki (historically known as Voivoda) is a coastal village in the prefecture of Lefkada, in Greece and the southern part of the island.

It has a permanent population of 395 residents according to the 2011 census. It is a well-known tourist resort and port of the prefecture From Vasiliki, tourist boats depart for the world-famous beaches of Porto Katsiki and Egremni, which are located in an isolated location in the southwest of the island and are considerably more difficult to reach from the mainland.

The village's main source of income is tourism, as the village's homonymous beach with its shallow waters is considered ideal for swimming and windsurfing due to the ideal winds that blow throughout the summer in combination with the protection provided by the location from the waves.

The village is also a popular destination for cyclists and walkers.

The seaside village of Vasiliki is located in the southern part of the island of Lefkada, at a distance of approximately 22 km from Nidri and approximately 38 km from the town of Lefkada.

The area of Vasiliki essentially consists of two parts the village of Vasiliki which is located near the port and the Ponti area which was developed later, while somewhere in between there is an organized campsite for those interested in camping.

In Vasiliki and Ponti there are many accommodations, both rooms to rent and hotels, while you will also find several taverns and restaurants. Every year, surfers from Greece and abroad meet at Vasiliki to enjoy their favorite sport, wind surfing, as Ponti Beach is considered ideal for the sport due to the winds that blow during the summer.

The busiest spot, both during the day and at night, is the picturesque port of Vasiliki, where you will find several restaurants, tourist souvenir shops, and cafes with ice cream/sweets.

During the day there are routes from the port to the nearby beach of Agiofyli, which you can also go to by road.

The enchanting Agiofili

The exotic, white beach of Agiofili is located in a picturesque bay and stands out for its impressive beauty. It is surrounded by vertical white rocks, thus protecting it from the winds.

Its crystal clear blue-green waters enchant visitors who can enjoy sun, sea and peaceful family holidays. Small white pebbles make up the coast.

From the surface of the sea, one can distinguish up to 4-6 meters the very small details of the transparent relief of the seabed with its amazing colors, algae, rocks and small fish. It is also an ideal destination for diving enthusiasts.

The location of the beach is on the left side of the bay of Vasiliki Lefkada. It can be accessed by boat from the settlement of Vasiliki and also by road.
